A fabulously old, weathered French textile crate that has a number of battle scars. The outer colour has worn to a softer red. The inside of the crate has been painstakingly lined with old French fashion magazines creating a striking graphic look.
As shown in the last image the external base of the crate is worn and damaged but the inside base (which is hidden under the decoupage) has been strengthened, making a strong and useful storage crate. There is also only one remaining wooden runner, of what would have been a pair, attached to the base.
There is the remains of metal strapping on each corner upright and in addition each corner has a strong metal reinforcement.
This is a rustic well worn piece. Don’t expect perfection, but a beautifully aged crate.
